Custom web application development

Custom software for the work your business actually does: portals, dashboards and internal tools built with Laravel and React, from the database and API through to the interface and deployment.

Software shaped around your process

Off-the-shelf tools work until your process stops fitting them. A custom web application models the way your business really runs: who does what, which roles see which data, and what should happen automatically.

On Direct Credit Buyback that meant three separate experiences in one system, for collectors, creditor agencies and administrators, each with its own permissions and dashboards.

The hard parts, handled properly

Most of the value in a business application sits in the unglamorous parts: importing data, talking to other systems, and keeping records accurate. I have built Excel imports that handle more than 100,000 rows with dynamic column mapping, SMS and calling through Telnyx, real-time notifications with Pusher, and recurring appointment scheduling that tracks attendance on its own.

From MVP to a system you can grow

If you are testing an idea, I can build a focused first version that does one job well and is ready for real users. Because it is built on Laravel and React rather than a no-code tool, the same codebase grows with you instead of hitting a wall once the idea works.

Working with me

I usually work as the only developer on a project, so you get one person who understands the whole system: database, API, interface and deployment. I work remotely from the UTC+5 time zone with clients in the UK, Canada and elsewhere.

Common questions

How much does custom web application development cost?

It depends on the number of user roles, the integrations involved, and how much data needs moving in from existing systems. A focused first version costs far less than a full platform, so it is often worth starting small. Tell me about the project and I will scope it with you.

Laravel or Node.js?

For most business applications I use Laravel on the backend, because it handles authentication, permissions, queues and databases well. I use Node.js where real-time features or an existing stack call for it, with React or Next.js on the front end.

Can you take over an existing application?

Yes. On WCsite I joined an existing codebase for a clinic, fixed issues first, then built whole new modules, including recurring scheduling, across the frontend and backend.
